Khader Adnan's two-month hunger strike has made him a hero among Palestinians outraged by Israel's policy of arbitrary detention

It was only after talking with lucidity and animation for an hour about her husband's 61-day hunger strike that Randa Jihad Adnan's eyes, visible though the opening of her nekab, filled with tears. Until then, this articulate 31-year-old graduate in sharia law from Al Najar University in Nablus, the pregnant mother of two young daughters aged four and one and half, had described with almost disconcerting poise the two months following the arrest of her husband, Khader Adnan, on 17 December.

He was seized at 3.30am by some of the scores of Israeli military and security personnel who surrounded the family home in a West Bank village south of Jenin, and is now being held in the Israeli Rebecca Ziv hospital in Safed. On Wednesday she was allowed to visit him with the children and her father-in-law.

There they found him, weak and extremely thin, his beard unkempt and his fingernails long. He was shackled by two legs and one arm to his bed, and was connected to a heart monitor. Though mentally alert, he could speak only with difficulty. "I was shocked," she said yesterday. "I couldn't speak for about three minutes, and it was the same for my daughters."

Mrs Adnan is convinced that the Israeli authorities only allowed the visit because they wanted the family to put pressure on her husband to end his hunger strike. He had started this on 18 December in protest at his arrest, his treatment and the subsequent detention order served on him.

"My father-in-law said to him: 'We want you to stay alive. You cannot defeat this state on your own.' He told him he wanted him to end the strike. I told him I wished he would drink a cup of milk. But he said: 'I did not expect this from you. I know you are with me all the time. Please stop it." Mrs Adnan said yesterday: "I know my husband. He will not change his mind. I expect him to die."

The day before the visit, a Red Cross delegation had gone to her home to warn her that her husband's heart could fail "at any minute". They told her that he was suffering from muscular atrophy, which was affecting his heart and stomach, that his pulse was weak, and that his life was now in extreme danger.

Physicians for Human Rights issued a medical report this week supporting a petition to the Supreme Court for his release. In it the group said that even though Mr Adnan had agreed to be treated with an infusion of liquids and salts, augmented by glucose and vitamins, he had refused to end his hunger strike and was in "immediate danger of death". The report added that a fast "in excess of 70 days does not permit survival".

The Supreme Court petition, for which no date has been set for a hearing, is the last judicial chance to save his life as Mr Adnan has said he will not end his fast until he is released from his four months of administrative detention. A military appeals court ruled this week that he must remain in detention until May.

Mr Adnan, 33, a mathematics graduate who runs a bakery in nearby Qabatya, has long been politically active. He has been convicted for being a spokesman of Islamic Jihad, one of the most militant Palestinian factions. And he has been arrested numerous times by Israel, and at least once by the Palestinian Authority, since leading a student demonstration in 1999 at Bir Zeit University against the visiting French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin.

But his family insists that he has never been involved in violence; nor has he been charged with it. Indeed, on this occasion, he has not been charged with any crime. His hunger strike has focused growing attention on the practice of administrative detention, in which Palestinians can be held without trial and on the basis of secret intelligence dossiers which are not shown to the defendant or his lawyers.

With international groups like Human Rights Watch demanding his release, and almost daily demonstrations in his support outside the Ofer military court near Ramallah, his case is fast taking on some of the political resonances of Bobby Sands, the most famous of the 10 IRA prisoners who died on hunger strike in prison in Northern Ireland in the early 1980s. Sands, an elected MP, died after 66 days without food.

Sitting with her older daughter, Maali, in front of a poster of her husband proclaiming "I reject administrative detention and I will continue the hunger strike until I am released", Mrs Adnan said that he is determined to continue his fast. His resolve has been hardened, she said, not only by his summary arrest and its circumstances (he was seized while in the lavatory) but by his treatment during interrogation. She claimed her husband had been held for seven-hour periods – interspersed with one-hour breaks – on a short chair with his hands tied behind its back, causing him intense discomfort, and that parts of his beard had been torn out by interrogators.

She said he had also been subject to psychological pressure, which his lawyers told her he raised in one of his several military court appearances. "They told him bad words about me. They said 'your wife is not pure'. They told him 'now you have been arrested she is free to do anything.'" She says he told the military court that one interrogator later admitted to him: "We know you love your wife and that she loves you. That's why we said things against her."

Mrs Adnan, who said that her husband had repeatedly declared that "my honour is more precious than food", added that her only hope now is that Israel will decide "to whiten its face in the world by releasing him". She said that it is for him to take the final decision, and that when she urged him to drink milk she was mainly carrying "a message from his mother."

Mr Adnan's sister – also called Maali – tentatively acknowledged the possibility that her brother might yet be persuaded that he had done enough to transmit his message to the world protesting about the use of administrative detention without trial or charge. But, saying that Mr Adnan was a model father who "loves life", she added: "I am not sure that he wants just to deliver a message. He also wants to end the administrative detention. We have so much faith in Allah to get him out of this situation. We believe that God will not let him down."

Randa Adnan recalled that her husband told one of his lawyers: "I do not want to go to oblivion or death. But I am a man who defends his freedom. If I die it will be my fate."

‘Oh God,’ atheist Richard Dawkins says when stumped in debate with Church of England priest

In case you missed it earlier this week, “the high pope of Darwinism” Richard Dawkins had a very spirited and interesting encounter on BBC Radio 4 with Reverend Giles Fraser, former Canon Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral (and the creator of the “high pope” epithet for Dawkins). The two were together to discuss a new poll, conducted for the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science, which found that at least half of U.K. people who identify themselves as Christians don’t actually go to church or read the Bible. Things became rather heated between Dawkins and the Reverend, as is usually the case with any decent debate involving religion. The highlight for most listeners came when Fraser, in his defence of those claiming Christian-identity, challenged evolutionist Dawkins on his lack of Charles Darwin trivia knowledge.

They self-identify as Christians and I think you should respect that.

Canada: Sunni, Shia and Ahmadi Muslims come together to honor the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw)

The attendees and speakers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community indicated they were pleasantly surprised about their successful participation in the auspicious occasion and thanked the organizers for the invitation.

A splendid event entitled “Jashan-e Rahmatulil Aalameen” [‘Mercy for all the worlds’ Festival] was staged to commemorate the birth and life of the Holy Founder of Islam, the Holy Prophet Muhammad ^(saw), here in Calgary during the last weekend.

The event was organized by Hasan Nawab Rizwi and Burhan Khan, in cooperation with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Calgary, Canada.

This was an unique event where, for the first time in the history of Canada, a Sunni Muslim or Shiea Muslim organization not only invited the Ahmadi Muslims to attend such an event, but also asked Ahmadi leaders to address the audience.

The event was meticulously organized with participants and discipline in mind and the program presented a beautiful balance.

The speakers, Dr. Salman Tarrabi, Sayed Arab Gilani, Dr Abdur Rahman, Afaq Hussain , Nayer Aziz, Sadaqat Ghazi, Almia Rizwi, and Faizan Mustafa, were joined by Nasir Mahmood Butt from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

During the ceremony, the participants rose to their feet several times to answer the Allah-o Akbar and other sentimental slogans.

A large number of women also participated in the program and a female speaker was invited to address the gathering.

A visiting provincial minister from Pakistan, Miss Farzana Rabia also participated in the event.

In the end Burhan Khan thanked the attendees for their participation. He also appreciated the speakers for sharing the stage to present their beautiful thoughts.

The attendees and speakers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community indicated they were pleasantly surprised about their successful participation in the auspicious occasion and thanked the organizers for the invitation.

The guest and were treated to a community feast at the end of the program.

Malaysian astronaut Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor travelled to space as the ninth Muslim astronaut to show how a prayer could be made in space.

“Everyone who goes to space feels a miracle. During my trip in space that took place in the holy month of Ramadan, I heard a ‘call to prayer’ in the Space Station,” Shukor said in an interview with Anatolia news agency.

“Time for fasting and prayer depends on where you are situated in space. As the space shuttle was launched from Kazakhstan, we took into consideration the local time in Kazakhstan. I prayed five times a day by taking into consideration the time in Kazakhstan. You had to turn your face toward the earth in order to pray in the direction of Mecca. The Space Station was in a position from where you could see the earth directly,” said Shukor who has visited Turkey as the guest of Turksat Corporation.

“Malaysia aims to send humans to space in order to encourage the youth to work on space issues. Malaysia wishes to train more doctors and scientists in the next 5 to 10 years. This was the main goal of the program.”

Out of 11,435 individuals, only three men and one woman were selected for the space trip.

Shukor said they had worked in space on cancerous cells. About 80 percent of their experiment has been completed, he said. “Once the results have been reached, we will inform the public about our study that will be published,” he added.

THE STORY OF THE FESTIVAL OF LOVE (Valentine’s Day)

The Festival of Love was one of the festivals of the pagan Romans, when paganism was the prevalent religion of the Romans more than seventeen centuries ago. In the pagan Roman concept, it was an expression of “spiritual love”. There were myths associated with this pagan festival of the Romans, which persisted with their Christian heirs. Among the most famous of these myths was the Roman belief that Romulus, the founder of Rome, was suckled one day by a she-wolf, which gave him strength and wisdom.

The Romans used to celebrate this event in mid-February each year with a big festival. One of the rituals of this festival was the sacrifice of a dog and a goat. Two strong and muscular youths would daub the blood of the dog and goat onto their bodies, then they would wash the blood away with milk. After that there would be a great parade, with these two youths at its head, which would go about the streets. The two youths would have pieces of leather with which they would hit everyone who crossed their path. The Roman women would welcome these blows, because they believed that they could prevent or cure infertility.

THE CONNECTION BETWEEN SAINT VALENTINE AND THIS FESTIVAL

Saint Valentine is a name which is given to two of the ancient “martyrs” of the Christian Church. It was said that there were two of them, or that there was only one, who died in Rome as the result of the persecution of the Gothic leader Claudius, c. 296 CE. In 350 CE, a church was built in Rome on the site of the place where he died, to perpetuate his memory. When the Romans embraced Christianity, they continued to celebrate the Feast of Love mentioned above, but they changed it from the pagan concept of “spiritual love” to another concept known as the “martyrs of love”, represented by Saint Valentine who had advocated love and peace, for which cause he was martyred, according to their claims. It was also called the Feast of Lovers, and Saint Valentine was considered to be the patron saint of LOVERS.

MUSLIMS, DISTANCE YOURSELF FROM VALENTINE’S DAY

The following hadiths are examples of how Muslims should not imitate the actions of non-Muslims.

On the authority of Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Aas who said: “The Messenger of Allah saw me wearing two saffron garments and he said: ‘Indeed these are from the dress of the Kuffaar so do not wear them.’ [Collected by Muslim (1/144), An-Nisaaee (2/298), Al-Haakim (4/190), and Ahmad in his Musnad (2/172, 164, 193, 207, and 211)]

At-Tirmidhi narrated that Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “He is not one of us who imitates other than us. Do not imitate the Jews or the Christians.”

At-Tabarani and Abu Dawud narrated that Ibn Umar and Hudhayfah رضي الله عنه reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “Whoever imitates a people, he is one of them.”

Al-Bayhaqi reported in his Sunan that Anas Bin Maalik رضي الله عنه said: “When the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم came to Medina, the people had two holidays from the days of Jahiliyyah. ”He صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “When I came to you, you had two days which you used to celebrate in Jahiliyyah. Allah سبحانه وتعالى has replaced them for you with better days, the days of slaughter (Adhaa) and the day of fitr.”

A Polite Bribe: A New Narrative For Paul And The Early Church?

The Apostle Paul was, for much of his life, an abject failure who never knew the success of his Christianizing mission. From his letters, written 50-60 A.D., we know that most of his relationships deteriorated in the midst of his overbearing personality, Jesus' original 12 disciples could hardly tolerate the man. Paul had to constantly fight to see that the congregations he started stayed true to his teachings, and he failed on numerous occasions to complete his missionary journeys because of disputes back in Judea. And yet, Paul was incredibly talented in one key measure: being divisive.

Interlaced within his Epistles, and other New Testament texts, lies a challenging narrative concerning the founding of the Christian Church. A narrative that leads up to one event that shaped the religion for generations to come, that led to Paul's violent death, and set forth an understanding of Jesus, the Christ, which was a far cry from the underclass, largely unlettered, first-century Palestinian Jew. The event, occurring between 58-60 A.D., was the supposed third Jerusalem Council, where Paul expected he could finally make amends with Jesus' original followers. Yet, as Gerd Ludemann flatly states, "Paul miscalculated this situation."

It did not go as planned.

First some background: Paul, a self-professed Hebrew among Hebrews, was rarely at peace with his original followers back in Jerusalem. James the brother of Jesus, Peter and the other remaining disciples were keen on keeping the movement -- then known as The Way -- as a Temple-based, ethnically Jewish, messianic mission. They were suspect of Paul, and understandably so. He had once been their chief persecutor prior to his conversion, around 36-39 A.D.

"He was not one of those disciples up in Galilee. He was Johnny-come-lately to this movement," says Pauline Scholar Richard Horsley. He was a lone man with a vision that insisted on the equal inclusion of Gentiles, without any Jewish regulation. And at times, because of his insightful visions, he considered himself a superior Apostle to those who had been with and followed the living Jesus. At best he was a nuisance, at worst he was a threat.

Radical Jewdaists attack Christian church

JERUSALEM — A Jerusalem monastery, built on the spot where tradition holds the tree from which Jesus’ cross was made, was defaced with graffiti bearing the hallmarks of militant Jewish settlers, police said on Tuesday.

“Death to Christians” was daubed in Hebrew on the outer walls of the Monastery of the Cross, an 11th-century fortress-like holy site situated in a valley overlooked by Israel’s parliament.

Army Radio reported that “Maccabees of Migron” was painted on the monastery, too, The Associated Press reported. Maccabees were ancient Jewish heroes, and Migron is an unauthorized settlement facing a court-ordered evacuation.

Such acts originally targeted West Bank mosques but have recently expanded to include a mosque inside Israel, Israeli military bases, and now, a Christian holy site.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the words “Price Tag” were also painted overnight by the vandals, who damaged two cars parked outside the monastery in the attack, according to Reuters.

The slogan, used by Jewish settlers in vandalism attacks on mosques and Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, refers to the retribution they say they will exact for any attempt by the Israeli government to curb settlement in the territory.

ISLAMABAD, 14 Rabi al-Awwal/6 Feb (IINA)-Intellectuals and scholars have urged Muslims to use Millat Facebook, a Muslims alternative to the US Facebook, saying they should boycott products of the countries and organizations involved in blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (SAW).

Muslim leaders at a round table conference have claimed that the social networking website, Facebook, which had been adamant on hosting a blasphemous page in the name of freedom of speech, was callously ignoring the annoyance of the whole Muslim world, The News reports.

Speaking at the conference “Blasphemy by Facebook and the Role of Muslim Youth on Social Media”, hosted by owners of Millat Facebook, a Muslim alternative to the US Facebook at Hamdard center on Saturday, the speakers slammed the country’s pseudo intellectuals and TV analysts who, they said, had been following the footsteps of Facebook by advocating the abolishment or amendment to the country’s Blasphemy laws.

Millat Facebook owners told the participants that their website had received huge success soon after it was launched in May 2010 in response to the deliberate blasphemy of the Prophet of Islam (SAW) as Muslim masses across the globe had joined it in large numbers.

However, it had been suffering the hostilities from the authorities in the US, Europe and Pakistan, which had created hurdles in its functioning by closing its hosting or denying it any place on the world wide web.

Umar Mir, the CEO of MFB, said unnamed US officials had forced its closure within few months by threatening the hosts in the US and Europe.

What was more hurting was that Pakistan’s national ISP, the PTCL had not only refused to host the site for unknown reasons, but also refused to give their denial in writing, he added.

He further alleged that several Jewish and Christian groups had made organized attacks to hack MFB for which they had invited all of their likeminded people from all over the world by posting appeals and invitations on the internet calling to block “Muslims’ alternative to FB” on different agreed upon dates. However, the MFB team had thwarted their malicious designs.

EireIslam Comment: It is not too long ago that non-Ahmadi Muslims criticized Aley us Sunnah Jama'at (Ahmadiyya) for adhering to the directive of the Khalifa of Islam (aba) to desist from using Facebook . This directive was given for the well-being of the Muslims as it was decided that Facebook presented too many avenues in which sin could be encouraged. Now we see that the rest of the Muslim world is coming to the same conclusion and for the same reasons. It is a sweet irony and we shall now see how those, now red faced ones, who had seen an opening to attack the Jama'at will react.

Irish suicide epidemic out of control

THREE people are taking their own lives on average each day in Ireland, with fears growing that nearly 1,000 people will die by suicide this year.

Gardai and support groups are monitoring known suicide 'blackspots' -- including the quays in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford as well as sea cliffs in Clare -- in a bid to help those in crisis

Suicide helpline ILife revealed that it was struggling to cope with 99 contacts a day, amounting to more than 33,000 pleas for help each year.

Pat Buckley, founder of charity Let's Get Together, lost his two brothers to suicide and said he feared Ireland was on course to record more than 900 suicides this year.

"The problem with the suicide statistics is that they take about two years to compile -- and even then they are relatively inaccurate and under-report the true scale of the problem," he warned.

"The problem is now so serious it is terrifying. We've battled to raise €5,000 in funds and it was spent on counselling in just a few weeks over November and December," he said.

Mr Buckley, from Midleton in east Cork, lost his brothers Mark and James to suicide in 2002 and 2003. He founded Let's Get Together in their memory.

Ireland recorded 527 suicides in 2009 and the figure for 2010 is expected to top 600.

Tragedy

Experts fear that the true figure is far higher, with an estimated 40pc of all undetermined deaths reckoned to be suicides.

"The tragedy is that I believe we will see over 900 suicides in Ireland this year -- almost three suicides for every day of the year," Mr Buckley said.

The Central Statistics Office confirmed that men were four times more likely to die by suicide than women, with males aged 15-24 the highest risk category.

In Clare, suicide accounted for 10 times the number of deaths from fatal road accidents last year. There were 19 deaths by suicide compared with two road deaths.

Consultant psychiatrist Dr Moosajee Bhamjee described the rise as "shocking and frightening".

"I believe that the effect of the recession is only adding to the numbers committing suicide. The official numbers taking their own lives is always under-reported and I believe that you can add 20pc to the official figure," he said.

The Cliffs of Moher in Clare ranks as one of the worst suicide 'blackspots'.

Two bodies were recovered from the River Blackwater in Cork in the space of just 18 hours last week, while three bodies were taken from the River Lee in Cork over the course of two days shortly before Christmas.

In Limerick, volunteers now patrol the River Shannon along the city quays.

The patrols began before Christmas by the Countrywide Emergency Response Team (CERT) in response to mounting concern over the number of bodies being taken from the River Shannon.

Today’s Ulema (religious scholars) are turning the clock back thousands of years by committing acts of utter barbarity and depravity all in the name of Islam and are instructing their followers to do the same.

One year ago tomorrow, on the 6th February 2011, three Khuddam in Cikeusik, Indonesia were brutally murdered.

Tubaqus Chandra Mubarak (34) was a born Ahmadi Muslim who was survived by his pregnant wife. The assailants attacked him inside the Ahmadiyya Mission House with knives and then suspended him from a height and continued to beat him. He was later taken down and his dead body was further beaten and mutilated.

Ahmad Warsono (38) joined the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in 2002. He is survived by his wife and four children. The assailants attacked him inside the Ahmadiyya Mission House with knives, machetes and sticks. His body was then brought outside where he was continually beaten mercilessly whilst the police looked on.

Roni Pesarani (35) joined the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in 2008. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. The assailants attacked him inside the Ahmadiyya Mission House with knives, machetes and sticks. His body was then brought outside where he was continually beaten mercilessly whilst again the police looked on.

These were ordinary people, like you and me, who were killed simply because of their belief in the truth of the Promised Messiah.

The spiritual head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, said that these attacks had belied any form of decency and were conducted in such a barbaric way that initially the dead bodies of the Ahmadis could not be identified. He quoted a report by the Asian Human Rights Commission which stated that many religious scholars in Indonesia and their followers failed to see anything wrong with the attacks. His Holiness said:

“Today’s Ulema (religious scholars) are turning the clock back thousands of years by committing acts of utter barbarity and depravity all in the name of Islam and are instructing their followers to do the same. These people have even hardened the hearts of their children so much that when the murders and violence were taking place, children stood by applauding.”

Hadhrat Ahmad said that what pained him and all true Muslims most of all, was that such brutality and violence was being committed in the name of the Holy Founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who had taught of love, compassion and mercy throughout his life.

His Holiness continued that the Ahmadi Muslims who had sacrificed their lives were true martyrs and were the shining stars of Ahmadiyyat. He said that the opponents of the community, wherever in the world they were, could try their utmost but they would never succeed in weakening the faith of an Ahmadi Muslim.

The Islamic fundamentalist group Shariah4Belgium has been criticized for its aggressive stance and lack of inter-religious tolerance. Belgian Muslims say they feel threatened by the group’s ideology, which they fear scares people away from Islam.

Shariah4Belgium came under the spotlight after it opened the country’s first Sharia court, a move which put it on a collision course with the country’s nationalists. The Belgian far-right Vlaams Belang party opposes the Muslim courts, maintaining that all legal disputes should be addressed in the country’s civil judicial system. Leading member Filip Dewinter claims Shariah4Belgium’s leadership said he should be killed for expressing his views.

'The impression created by the paper's front page article yesterday was that unemployment was being chosen and relished. The original article, appearing in Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza reveals a situation exactly the opposite to this. The level of inaccuracy cannot be put down to a careless mistranslation but rather it amounts to an attack on foreign national workers, which, as the Polish Ambassador alluded to yesterday, is an ugly feature of history in times of economic recession,' Clare Daly, Socialist Party TD for Dublin North stated today.

The Indepedent's original article on the subject claimed that the Polish woman living in Donegal, pseudonymously called 'Magda' had stated that living on Social Welfare was 'like a Hawaiian massage.' In fact, she had referred to having studied a FAS course in massage and was hoping to earn a living from this skill in the future. She also specifically stated in the original article '“I have a big problem with being unemployed, I don’t want to live at the State’s expense and for that reason I use this assistance to allow me start up my own business”.

Joe Higgins TD said, 'In the context of continuous attacks on Social Welfare both here and in the UK, where the current Social Welfare Bill aims to slash billions from the welfare state, it is unacceptable that the Independent would publish such an inaccurate and yes, racist article, which would create a backlash against foreign national workers.'

Clare Daly continued, 'The Independent should print a front page apology, dealing with the issue in equivalent length to the original article which they published with abandon. The confusion and controversy which the article generated has created a lasting false impression in relation to the experience of people on Social Welfare and should be addressed comprehensively. It is an abuse of the newspapers position that they have done this.

The story of Noah^(as) and his Ark has intrigued people for thousands of years. Here, we explore the differing accounts of the story, possible locations for the flood and catch up on current research.

Introduction

The story of Noah^(as) is familiar to followers of the three major religions—Islam, Judaism and Christianity. The main outline is this: the prophet Noah^(as) is instructed by God to build an ark, to save him and his followers from the great flood that will punish the disbelievers. Other cultures have similar flood stories involving different characters. But questions abound. When did the flood take place? What kind of civilisation did Noah^(as) live in? Can modern-day archaeological research shed any light on this incident?

While we have little information for the period before the flood, there is much archaeological evidence available from the period after the flood. We have some idea of when the flood may have occurred. The most recent Ice Age is thought to have ended around 10,000 BCE. As the ice melted, there would have been a gradual rise in sea levels. Moreover, academic research into the possibility of such a great deluge suggests that the ice would have taken a long time to fully melt and this would not necessarily have been a gradual process, so that surges of melting ice might have resulted in climatic disasters (Wilson, p.8).

Due to the scarcity of direct historical evidence from that time, while we know the core of the story, it is harder to piece together historical details. It is worth exploring the differing accounts, the environment in which Noah^(as) lived and the status of current research.

Various Accounts of the Flood

While there are various accounts of the flood, the two most prominent are those found in the Bible and the Holy Qur’an. These shall be examined in detail, whilst other accounts will also be studied—most of which show a remarkable similarity to these two accounts.

CHANTILLY, Va. (CBSDC) A mosque under construction in Chantilly was damaged by vandals Sunday night just , weeks before it was set to open.

There was no evidence that the vandals entered the building, according to Fairfax County Police, but there was significant damage to the outside of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mosque, as windows were smashed and rocks were thrown.

Police also said many alcohol containers were found at the scene. The damages are estimated to be between $60,000 and $80,000.

Although detectives and bloodhounds spent seven hours at the scene Monday, there is no word of any suspects yet, WNEW’s Matt DelSignore reported.

Nearby neighbors had complained about the project, but police are not calling this a hate crime, Delsignore reported.

An Orthodox Christian church famed for its valuable icons was set alight in southern Macedonia overnight amid religious tension between Christians and minority Muslims over a carnival in which Orthodox Christian men dressed as women in burkas and mocked the Koran.

Firefighters extinguished the fire on Monday night in the two century-old Sveti Nikola church, near the town of Struga. The church's roof was destroyed but its icons were not damaged, the fire service said.

Hours before the fire, Muslim leaders had appealed for calm among community members.

The January 13 Vevcani festival prompted angry, sometimes violent demonstrations by Muslims, who are nearly all ethnic Albanian and make up 33% of the country's 2.1 million population and accuse the majority of stoking hatred against them.

Ethnic tension has been simmering in this small Balkan country since the end of an armed rebellion in 2001, when ethnic Albanian rebels fought government forces for about eight months, seeking greater rights for their community. The conflict left 80 people dead, and ended with the intervention of Nato peacekeepers.

The Vevcani carnival, said to have been held for some 1,400 years, attracts thousands of visitors. Local residents traditionally wear elaborate, frequently sarcastic masks, with some of the most common costumes including devils and demons.

But this year's perceived mockery of the Koran and the burka costumes caused outrage.

On Saturday, protesters attacked an inter-city bus heading from Struga to Vevcani, throwing rocks at the vehicle but injuring nobody. They also defaced a Macedonian flag outside Struga's municipal building, replacing it with a green flag representing Islam. On the same day, perpetrators attacked a church in the nearby village of Labunista, destroying a cross standing outside.

Macedonian Muslim leaders called for restraint but also accused the government of promoting Islamophobia.

Deputy Prime Minister Musa Xhaferi said such incidents "create discord" and "violate mutual respect and trust."

Canada: Ahmadi teens launch Lego Man into space

A challenge usually left to NASA eggheads or PhD students was conquered by two Toronto teenagers earlier this month when Mathew Ho and Asad Muhammad sent a Lego-manned flight capsule into space.

The two 17-year-old Agincourt Collegiate Institute students completed their year-long mission two weeks ago, successfully sending a balloon carrying a Lego man and a small Canadian flag out of earth's atmosphere.

The unit was launched from a park near Ho's east-end home and ascended 80,000 feet before the balloon popped. The Lego man and his cargo fell safely to earth, with the help of a homemade parachute, where it landed in a Peterborough field.

The whole mission was captured by four cameras on board the shuttle and tracked by the GPS inside a phone. The astonishing photographs showed the Lego man hovering well above earth and captured glorious views of our planet from space.

The result was more amazing than the two teenagers could have ever imagined.
"We were standing in my living room and I saw the photos and I shook Asad's hand right away. I said, 'Congratulations. We did it, we accomplished what we set out to do," Ho told The Toronto Star. "We captured photos from near space."

The space mission began more than a year ago but work really got underway when Ho and Muhammad started drawing up plans in September, working during the weekends to sew together the parachute, perfect the flight pod and iron out all the problems that come with launching an object into space.
The pair, who first met in middle school, saw a similar project done by a group of IT students and figured they could do it themselves.

"Almost to prove to ourselves and prove to everyone else that we could do it," Ho told The Toronto Star.
"I knew I wanted to do something like this but I couldn't do it alone," added Muhammad
"Once we started doing it, I really wanted to retrieve it back because I wanted to show everyone that we could do it."

Ho has applied to Canadian universities with the intention of pursuing a commerce degree. Muhammad has applied to several engineering programs.

Pakistan: Punjab ruling party leaders, extremist join in anti-Ahmadi protest rally, issue ultimatum

The impudence of the Punjab government peaked yesterday as the ruling party’s leadership joined a banned terrorist group and several other extremists, and militants from various religious groups in a protest rally against the already besieged Ahmadiyya Muslim community here.

The rally was called by the banned terrorists’ organization, Jamā’at-ud Da’awa (JuD) to protest the existence of an Ahmadiyya community center for worship in Satellite Town area of Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

According to the eye witnesses’ reports from the Sunday’s thousands-strong rally, the speakers gave a one week ultimatum to the Ahmadis of the Satellite Town area to cease their offering of Salawt and Jum'a prayers, the both being the Ahmadiyya Muslim acts of worship.

The rally participants, mostly consisting of youth from religious madrasas from the surrounding areas, chanted various anti-Ahmadiyya hate slogans while waving flags of Jamā’at-ud Da’awa, Sipah-e-Sahaba, Laqshker-e Jhangvi, and pro-Mumtaz Qadri posters, the infamous killer of Late Salmaan Taseer.

The leaders of many religious factions, including Brelvis, Deobandis, and Ahle-Hadith, were accompanied by the local trade unions leaders and several politicians at the rally stage - who delivered numerous fiery speeches against the Ahmadiyya community.

Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PML-N) leader Zia ullah Shah specially joined the JuD rally to protest Ahmadis’ practice of their faith at their community center.

Sharjeel Mir who is also a key member of PML- N, also spoke at the rally, joining in giving Ahmadiyya community an ultimatum to stop their ‘unconstitutional activities’ which is short for keeping them from practicing their faith.

The Pakistani constitution declares Ahmadi’s non-Muslim and several laws implemented during the late General Zia’s rule dictate that Ahmadis must abandon any manners of worship which might be identical to the Muslims act of worship.

Sharjeel Mir also personally sponsored the event and posted banners against Ahmadis in open streets.

The traders’ leaders and clerics who spoke at the rally openly called for aggression against the Ahmadi's if they did not comply, it was reported.

The "Government must take notice," demanded Chaudhary Imran, a local trade leader at the rally. "Otherwise we’ll, by ourselves, throw Qadiyanis outta this country," Ch Imran angrily added.

'Qadiyani' is a disparaging term used by the extremist Muslims when referring to the members of the Ahmadiyya community who simply prefer to be addressed as Ahmadi Muslims.

Moulana Naqshbandi, a militant cleric, threatened the government with violent action if their demands were not met.

“'We warn government to respect the law and stop activities of Qadiyanis” said Naqshbandi. “Otherwise we know how to stop them”.

JuD speaker pledged to provide total logistic and moral support for any action against the Ahmadiyya community.

"We are not doing anything. This is happening by the will of God," the speaker declared.

Another trade union leader claimed it was a peaceful rally but promised chaos the next time if the government would not take notice.

"That time is near when Muslims will kick out all Qadianis from Pakistan," said Ghafoor Pracha, VP, All Pakistan Trade Unions in Rawalpindi. “I warn Qadianis to be in their limits otherwise there will be no limit for us also,” Ghafoor Pracha added.

"Ultimatum was issued to Ahmadi's to abandon their activities at Ewane Tawheed, the Ahmadiyya community center, till next Friday," it was further reported from the rally.

While it was a 'massive' rally, not more than 50 policemen were seen for jalsa security, and there were no women in attendance, it was reported.

Some analysts say that many religious factions known to be run with the support from the military establishments are now trying to assert their independent street power.

They also observers the religious factions might be 'suffering from Dollars withdrawal syndrome' as the US aid to the Pakistani Army is starting to dry up.

The members of the Ahmadiyya Community have long complained about the government’s involvement in persecution of the Ahmadiyya community.

"If there was any doubt that this whole thing had political motives then they are clear now," say the Ahmadiyya reprehensive in Pakistan.

"PML (N) leader Zia Ullah Shah sat on the stage," he wrote disappointedly.

Thus the headline to an article in today’s Daily Mail. As is almost invariably the case when this newspaper reports on any issue involving Muslims, the headline is intentionally misleading.

If you read the article, you’ll see it is the rapist’s family background that is characterised as “strict Muslim” not the individual himself. In fact the judge in passing sentence made the point that the rapist carried out the attacks despite and in contradiction to his religious upbringing: “The fact that you have attacked these women not withstanding your background must represent your own wholly warped personality.”

But the headline suggests to the reader that it was the man’s strict adherence to his faith which produced the violent misogyny that led him to commit these crimes.

Iran Set to Turn Off Oil Supply to Europe

The European Union embargo on Iranian oil will only come into effect in six months, but the leadership in Tehran wants to act first: Exports to Europe are set to be halted immediately. It is a move which could mean added difficulties for struggling economies in southern Europe.

It's a move which has tit-for-tat written all over it, but one which could nonetheless have a serious impact: The Iranian government wants to present a bill to parliament this weekend calling for an immediate halt to oil deliveries to Europe. The move, with most reports citing the Iranian news agency Mehr, has come about in response to the EU agreement to impose sanctions against Iran,which were announced earlier this week.

The sanctions banned any new contracts for buying oil from Iran, but allowed existing deals to continue until July in order to give countries time to find other sources. But that process is now at risk after the latest move from Tehran, a step the Iranian government had already threatened.

"If this bill is passed, the government will be forced to stop selling oil to Europe before the actual implementation of their sanctions," said Emad Hosseini, spokesman for the Iranian parliament's energy commission, reportedly said. The bill is set to become law on Sunday.

The EU sanctions allow for oil deliveries from Iran until July 1. Any pre-empting of this timescale by Tehran could prove problematic for countries like Italy, Greece and Spain, who would need to urgently find new suppliers.

China, meanwhile, a major importer of Iranian oil, has also criticized the EU sanctions. The Xinhua news agency quoted the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday as saying: "To blindly pressure and impose sanctions on Iran are not constructive approaches."

Economic Consequences

Many members of the EU are now heavily dependent on Iranian oil. Some 500,000 barrels arrive in Europe every day from Iran, with southern European countries consuming most of it. Greece is the most exposed, receiving a third of all its oil imports from Iran, but Italy too depends on Iran for 13 percent of its oil needs. If this source were to dry up abruptly, the economic conditions in the two struggling countries could become even worse.

Already on Wednesday, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) warned of the economic consequences of the EU's planned embargo. Stopping deliveries from the world's fifth largest producer could drive up the price of oil by 20 to 30 percent.

And the prices of different types of oil did rise on Thursday, albeit only slightly. In the morning, the cost of a barrel of North Sea Brent Crude was $110.73, 92 cents more than on Wednesday. The price of a barrel of WTI from the US was up 81 cents at $100.21.

The Ballymena born star told the Irish Sun that Islamic prayer ‘got into his spirit’ while filming a new movie in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Neeson said: “The Call to Prayer happens five times a day and for the first week it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit and it’s the most beautiful, beautiful thing.

“There are 4,000 mosques in the city. Some are just stunning and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim.”

Raised as a devout Catholic, Neeson has admitted that his faith was challenged after his wife Natasha Richardson died in a freak skiing accident in 2009.

He added: “I was reared a Catholic but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What’s it all about?

“I’m constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism.”

Neeson was heavily criticised in 2010 when he openly refuted claims by author C.S. Lewis that Narnia lion Aslan is based on Christ.

After he voiced the character in the film adaptation, Neeson instead claimed Aslan was based on other spiritual leaders including Mohammed and Buddha.

This is because brother Yusuf was successful in countering Eire******'s attacks on Ahmadiyya True Islam in Ireland. However brotherYusuf, after a discussion with Imam Ibrahim decided to tone down his counter attacks in response to personal pleas by Liam Egan. He offered an olive branch to Liam, even though Liam went as far as to involve Yusuf’s Mother in the abuse. Now it seems that the old and real colours of Liam Egan have surfaced once again on his Eire****** site. Liam Egan contacted Imam Ibrahim through email requesting Imam Ibrahim to ask Yusuf to tone down his counter attacks and Imam Ibrahim agreed to speak to Yusuf and others about this, and he did. The first sign of this was the excellent and diplomatic letter which Yusuf wrote to Eire****** and Liam Egan. And what prey tell was the response? Noting except pure Munafiq behavior by Liam.

But this is not at all surprising because Satan and his companions can only keep up the lie for so long, but ultimately the true colour of Satan come out, as indeed is the case of Liam Egan. As Muslims we are told to follow the example of the Holy Prophet (saw) to take him as our role model but Liam and eire****** its seems have taken Satan as their role model. He presents evil in a beautiful package and then invites him to take another step, and slowly and steadily, the man continues in these Satanic ways towards the bigger evil, until he falls into the pit of sin and decadence, so cunningly designed by Satan"

“The Promised Messiah^as also warns us that by following a few Islamic teachings and ignoring the rest will not help keep our faith strong. Such a lifestyle will eventually turn us completely oblivious of our good deeds as well. One must therefore continually analyze his/her practices and protect oneself from evil at all times.”

Sadly Liam and his followers have made his site to look as a beautiful package of Islamic discourses in an attempt to fool the masses. But hardly a few have so far taken notice. But none the less he and band of merry satins walk further on the path of evil.

In my previous article about the advancement of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam in over a hundred years, even though in summary fashion but none the less, I mentioned that the Ummah resorted to lies in the past and some have even twisted the words of the Promised Messiah (as) from his own books This is a fact! And now it would seem Liam has again gone down this road just like the Mullah’s.

Brother Yusuf wrote an open letter to offer an olive branch to Liam and his eire****** site which he even posted on the eire****** comments section. This was done in recognition of overtures made by Liam Egan through alternate channels. But rather than accepting this olive branch let us take a look at what Liam did;

Now as to the burning question of how this all links to Liam. Well Imam Ibrahim is known to Liam, and most of, if all non-Ahmadi’s do not know his former name except Liam. Therefor by the insertion of (Micahel) in the text this shows that eire****** Admin, who claimed all a long that they did not know Liam, inserted the word Michael. Or should we say that LIAM has inserted the name (Michael) showing that Liam has always been part of and indeed IS eire******. What it shows is that Liam is a Satan, deceiver, charlatan and AN ENEMY, LIAR, & DISBELIEVER OF ISLAM. Can eire****** be taken seriously or to be believed to have any substance or credibility? the answer is NO!

However recently due to cowardly and malicious attacks made against EireIslam contributors by anonymous persons we have after due consultation decided to, for now, amend our comment accessibility.

I wish to address Liam Egan’s recent letter (15 December 2011), in which he stated that the Ahmadiyya Muslim community was not Muslim, and that any reference to them being Muslim is hurtful to the sentiments of the broader Muslim community in Ireland and elsewhere.

I would like to state that the only difference between us Ahmadi Muslims and our Sunni brothers (although we are also Sunni) is that we believe that the Imam Mahdi and Messiah of the latter days has already come, while other Muslims are still awaiting his advent.

We believe that that very person that the world has been waiting for is Hadhret Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, the founder of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim community which continues to grow and prosper through his successors, or Khalifas.

As an Ahmadi Muslim, I would like to pose the question to Mr Egan: does he consider our Shia brothers to be Muslim, or for that matter also those of the Sufi interpretation? It can be said that they have certain doctrinal beliefs that differ from mainstream Sunni Islam. In fact there are many in the Ummah who consider Wahabis/Salafis to hold deviant beliefs also, so may we say that they are also non-Muslim? Whose criteria should we apply? Should it be the Shia? Salafi? Sufi? Al Qurani? Deobond, Beralvi, Aly Hadit? I could go on.

Surely the best criterion is that of the Seal of the Prophets, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He was asked the very pertinent question, ‘Who’s Islam is best?’ He replied: ‘That followed by one who avoids harming other Muslims with his hands or tongue’ (Abu Musa – Sahi Bukhari). I think that we can leave it at that.

The comments of Liam Egan do not come as Surprise, but his assertions about the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam are completely inaccurate. Firstly his statement that the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam has achieved very little is fanciful. In over a hundred years the Jamaat has spread in 197 countries around the world, it has a following of over 180 Million, it has established thousands upon thousands of Mosques around the world and now Galway City will get its first purpose built Mosque, which is called Galway Mosque Masjid Maryam, which will start construction in a few weeks, inshallah.

The Ahmadiyaa Movement in Islam has people from all races nationalities, former Hindus, Jews, Christians, Buddhists and thousands of various Muslims from all sects of Islam who have embraced true Islam, even former Salafi. Ahmadiyyat is respected all around the world even by many Muslims.

Can we say the same about the Salafi community; can we see Salafi Mosques all over the world and Ireland? Does the Salafi community speak on behalf of Islam in Ireland? The answer is NO!, so when Liam talks of 1.5 billion Muslims he forgets to mention that many out that 1.5 billion do not consider Salafi’s as part of Islam.

And as to the claim that the Ummah has unanimously rejected Ahmadiyyat, which Ummah? In 1974 that very Ummah came together to reject truth. But also at the same it was known that each sect participating considered all other sects and madhabs as Kafir, showing the colours of being Munafiqeen, therefore showing that their authority was baseless and without foundation.

As to this absurd claim by Liam that every aspect of the Ahmadiyyat true Islam has been refuted, not a single doctrine of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam has been proven incorrect or wrong, rather it is quite the opposite, every allegation that has been raised by the opponents of Ahmadiyyat was proven to be incorrect and not only that, but they their Ummah had to resort to lies in their attempt to misguide the masses.

Interestingly Liam is promoting Salafism, which has been rejected by the majority of the 1.5 billion Muslims of the various Ummah’s (there is no one united Ummah), let us not be fooled by these words of Liam, Shia, Sufi’s and many other madhabs have and reject Salafism as the right path. This shows that this site eire****** is a salafi site, and we must ask a question that has Liam and Salafism been able to halt the progress of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Ireland? No!

From time to time the name Liam Egan surfaces on the blogesphere. People wonder "what ever happened to Liam Egan aka Mujahid?" Liam, an Irish convert to Wahhabism was for a short space of time a disconcerting figure in Irish society through his Wahhabist extremist site MPAC.ie. His attempts to radicalize young Muslims and create divisions and mistrust won him condemnation from all sides. This caused embarrassment among the Irish Muslim community. His extremist rhetoric and self appointed position as spokesperson for Irish Muslims drew both ire and disdain from both Muslim as well as non Muslim communities alike.

However surprisingly, one day MPAC.ie just disappeared from both sight and sound. No explanation or reason was offered up as to what had cause this sudden departure of both MPAC.ie and Liam Egan from the scene. But now within the last few months another slimier extremist hate site has appeared. Liam fingerprints seemed to beall over it. However the ownership and administration of the said site remained "anonymous", until now.

EireIslam originally published on the web as a response to the extremist and excitable rhetoric of Liam Egan under his previous incarnation of MPAC.ie. Alhamdoillah after some time MPAC.ie bolted its doors under the extreme pressure exerted on Liam the EireIslam team. It came down to a case of fight or flight and as we can see, as now Liam Egan decided to flee from us although unconfirmed sources suggest that it was indeed the Irish intelligence community which shut MPAC.ie down. We at EireIslam would like to take this opportunity to wish Liam and his family inshAllah the very best in their new home in Saudi. Introduction

Recently a new blog has appeared on the scene expressing hatred towards the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at. Eire*****, the self styled "voice of Islam in Ireland" is not an actual theological site as it lacks the theological credentials required but rather its base is that of an Anti- political anti-western hate site. Anything which is linked with the UK or the USA is fair game for attack by the creator of this site. What is more, he has indeed even attacked Muslims themselves regardless of who they are just because they don’t fall into the cultic belief system which is based upon the Salafi/Wahabbi ideology.

Even though I should point out there are some Salafi’s who do not consent to the creator of this site representing them, which shows the diversity exists even from within Salafism.

Although it must be said that during my stay in many Middle Eastern countries which includes Palestine, I met many Salafi’s in Jerusalem who actually were quite pleasant even though they knew that I was belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Therefor my remarks above are not meant as an attack upon those decent intelligent and God fearing Salafi Muslims whom I have met over the years while traveling in the Arabs lands but rather upon that fanatical nano-minority in Ireland which claim to represent Islam, which of course they do not.

The title of my article is quite important as it is a subject of paramount importance to humankind as it would seem that the world is heading towards destruction if it does not return to the true worship of Almighty Allah swt and accept and follow Holy Prophet Muhammad saw and recognising the Imam Mahdi of the time as foretold by the Holy Prophet Muhammad saw. It should be noted that there are thousands upon thousands of Ahadith in which the great pioneers of the science of Ahadith compiled for the benefit of the Islamic ummah and indeed the world at large. And it should also be acknowledged that many of the Ahadith are questionable and others need explaining while again other’s are clear while there are those which are very complex.

My aim is not to commentary on the compilation of the Ahadith but I felt it important that the readers should understand this very important area of study. Because of this it is often forgotten and many ant-Ahmadi commentators forget this when they themselves present Ahadith in favour of their stance, yet whenever an Ahmadi Muslim presents authentic Ahadith in favour of their stance the normal reaction is ‘ its weak, it’s not authentic the scholars have rejected it’. Another problem is many of the persons who object or debate are really not at all qualified to make such theological or historical comments, and this is also the case with many Ahmadi’s Muslims as well, all of course do so with sincere love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad saw and the Imam Mahdi and Messiah as.

Top economist warns of second Irish bailout

The chief economist of one of the world's biggest banks has recommended that Ireland negotiate a stand-by second IMF/EU bailout.

The remarks by Willhem Buiter of Citigroup come as the Government prepares for the arrival of the Troika tomorrow for its fifth review of the loan programme.

Currently Ireland would borrow at 8% if it returned to the markets, but it is borrowing from the Troika at about 3%.

Mr Buiter said: "Borrowing at 8% when you can borrow at 3% doesn't sound like good business."

He added that Ireland should not attempt to secure a second bailout "in a state of near panic at the last minute".

Instead, the Government should negotiate second loan agreement in advance and have it on stand-by in case it cannot borrow from the markets this year.

Mr Buiter has said that Ireland needs to renegotiate the debt associated with the recapitalisation of IBRC, formerly Anglo Irish Bank.

He said that Greece would apply a haircut to bondholders this year and Portugal next year.

The economist said that Ireland need to renegotiate its debt but this should focus on the interest rate applying to fixing IBRC.

EC in successful bond auction

The European Commission has said it has completed a successful bond auction to raise €3bn that will go towards the bailout programs of Ireland and Portugal.

The bonds sold have a maturity of 30 years, the first such bonds to be sold at auction, and part of the deal to reduce costs for bailout countries as agreed at a summit of EU leaders last July.

The €3bn bond matures on 4 April 2042 and pays an interest coupon of 3.75%.

The Commission said in a statement that the sale was completed within two hours and was oversubscribed by €2.2bn.

Qatari/US created Wahhabi terrorist group terrorise Muslims, topple Muslim Governments

The Qatar oil emirate, encouraged by its successful participation in the campaign to overthrow Libya's Muammar Qaddafi, has established a Sunni Arab intervention force to expedite the drive for Syrian President Bashar Assad's ouster, DEBKAfile's military sources report. The new highly mobile force boosts the anti-Assad Free Syrian Army, whose numbers have jumped to 20,000 fighters, armed and funded by Qatar and now forming into military battalions and brigades at their bases in Turkey.

When they saw the Syrian massacre continuing unabated this month, the Qatari and Saudi rulers approved a crash program for the Qatari chief of staff Maj.-Gen Hamas Ali al-Attiya to weld this mobile intervention Sunni Muslim force out of al Qaeda linked-operatives for rapid deployment on the Turkish-Syrian border.

A force of 2,500 has been recruited up until now, our sources report. The hard core is made up of 1,000 members of the Islamic Fighting Group in Libya-IFGL, which fought Qaddafi, and 1,000 operatives of the Ansar al-Sunna, the Iraqi Islamists which carried out 15 coordinated bomb attacks in Baghdad last Thursday killing 72 people and injuring 200.

Qatar has just had them airlifted from Libya and Iraq to the southern Turkish town of Antakya (Antioch) in the border province of Hatay.

It is in this town of quarter-of-a- million inhabitants that the new Sunni force has located its command center and separate camps for the two main contingents to undergo intensive training for combat missions in the embattled Syrian towns and provinces of Idlib, Homs, Jabal al-Zawiya, scenes of the fiercest clashes between Syrian troops and rebels.

DEBKAfile also reveals that the man appointed top commander of the Sunni intervention force headquartered in Antioch is none other than Abdel Hakim Belhaj, whose militia last August seized control of Tripoli after it was captured from Qaddafi by NATO and Qatari forces.

He has picked his deputies - Al-Mahdi Hatari, former head of the Tripoli Brigade and loyal crony Kikli Adem.

Qatari officers have set up communication links between the Libyan and Iraqi camps and since last week are coordinating their operations with the Free Syrian Army.

This flurry of military activity is taking place under the watchful gaze of the Turkish military and its intelligence services but they are not interfering.

DEBKAfile's military and counter-terror analysts stress that the rise of a new Qatari-led Sunni Muslim rapid intervention force breaks fresh strategic ground with ramifications for the United and Israel as well as for the Gulf Arab countries, Syria, Libya and Iraq.

1. A year has gone by since the Arab Revolt first broke out in December 2010. Yet this is the first time a Sunni Muslim power has established an intervention force - one moreover which is composed almost entirely of fighting men drawn from the ranks of al Qaeda and its extremist Islamist affiliates and allies.

2. The new Sunni force, funded by the Persian Gulf oil states, is silently backed by the US and NATO members, with Turkey in the forefront of this support group. This means that the Sunni-Shiite divide is spiraling into overt conflict with Western support afforded to one side.

3. Despite finding itself increasingly isolated by its Arab neighbors, Tehran has so far not intervened directly in conflicts in which it owns an interest – such as Gulf Cooperation Council-GCC intervention against a Shiite-led uprising in Bahrain, and now Sunni militias and terrorists enlisted to battle the Allawite regime of Iran's closest ally, Bashar Assad in Damascus.

4. Iran's Lebanese proxy. Hizballah's Hassan Nasrallah, must also be feeling an uncomfortable draft coming from a Sunni fighting force near his strongholds and carrying out raids against his closest ally, Bashar Assad. He can't ignore the possibility of that force conducting similar excursions against his own Shiite militia.

5. Israel too must find cause for concern in the rise of a Sunni military intervention force capable of moving at high speed from one arena to another and made up almost entirely of Islamist terrorists. At some time, Qatar might decide to move this force to the Gaza Strip to fight Israel.

Following revelations about Qatar's plan to overthrow the Saudi Arabian monarchy, tensions between the two countries reaches a new level over adherence to Wahhabism.

In a recent development, Saudi Arabia's new crown prince, Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, was quoted by Al-Awamiyah website as saying that his country will not allow Qatar to replace it as a religious hub among Arab countries.

Addressing an opening ceremony of a seminar in the Saudi capital city of Riyadh last Tuesday, Prince Nayef announced that Saudi Arabia would never allow Qatar to own the religious standing of Saudi Arabia in the Arab world.

His remarks followed a measure by the Qatari government to name the country's biggest mosque after Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab, the founder of the Wahhabi sect.

Analysts believe that Doha's measure is an effort to strip Saudi Arabia of its position as the core of Wahhabism in the Arab world.

Nayef added that the Saudi government was founded on the basis of Salafism by Muhammad bin Saud, who was an ally to Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab, and Riyadh is proud of its loyalty to Salafism.

Saudi officials have noted that Qatar is preparing to enter a fierce competition with Saudi Arabia and this is why the country is trying to highlight its loyalty to Wahhabism.

Political observers believe the United States is provoking Qatar to continue a war of words with Saudi Arabia.

Last week, an audio file was published on the Internet in which Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al Thani said the Saudi Arabian monarchy will be overthrown by Qatar very soon.

He added that Qatari troops would occupy Qatif in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province and the Al Saud regime will disintegrate.

"The regime of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud is exhausted and powerless to control the country and the army cannot confront the future changes," he asserted.

Sheikh Hamad said Qatar is also capable of gradually reducing the dominance of Saudi Arabia in the region and imposing itself on Arab countries.

The revelation came as people in Qatif have been staging protest rallies to demand freedom and equality over the past months.

Ahmadiyya Malta condemns attacks on churches in Nigeria

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Malta, has strongly rejected and categorically condemned the violent attacks on Churches in Nigeria yesterday.

A string of bombs struck churches in five Nigerian cities, leaving dozens dead and wounded on the Christmas day, a special day for Christians around the world.

The community said the blasts mark the second holiday season that bombs have hit Christian houses of worship in the West African nation.

"These acts of violence and hatred against innocent citizens are provocative and inhuman.

"These are no doubt, inhuman, heinous and cruel attacks, which should be condemned at every level.

"The Ahmadiyya Community condemns the attack in strongest terms, and demands the authorities to bring the culprits in front of justice as soon as possible."

The community said that, in this age, when certain powers, organisations and ideologies were engaged in destroying peace and when ill-feelings against each other were being sparked unnecessarily, the objective of caring for the sentiments of each other, respecting other faiths, showing mutual tolerance and harmony and interreligious cooperation was all the more important.

"The head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community calls all the people to exhibit their kindness to one-another, to show love and affection and for renewing ties of brotherhood and kinship so that peace in the best possible manner can be established in our societies."

He says there is no religion in the world that advocates the destruction of peace.

The community expressed its condolences to the victims' families and prayed for the health of those injured in the attack.

Gorey Hate Site Flips Out: Turns to tabloid trickery

The Gorey Wahabist hate site knows as Eire****** has once again been exposed. But this time it has been its own dim-witted and sloppy attempt to once again malign Jama’at-e-Ahmadiyya Islami, which has ensnared it.

The carelessly cobbled together site attempted to present an argument “proving” that the Promised Mesih al Mahdi (as) Mirza Ghulam Ahmad had written abuse about Nabi Jesus (as) in his literary works. Eire****** foolishly cut and pasted from a now debunked website without any checks or shred of research what so ever. The alleged quotes presented came from Al Imam Al Mahdi's (as) books, which are written in the Urdu language and which of course the lone contributor to and commenter of the site Liam Egan can not read.

Poor Liam, his head is still spinning from the spectacular kick in the respective, which he received from EireIslam here.

Liam Egan cuts from a site which presents one line quotes from the books of the Promised Messiah (as) ever careful to remove them from their context. They often also mistranslate his words. Liam, what was the name of the book? What was the subject matter? When was it written and why? Alas truth, integrity and journalistic responsibility are very alien attributes for Liam who has been psychologically analyzed by the Dialogue Ireland Cult Watch site here in an attempt to understand his twisted perception and logic.

Cheap tabloid like trickery is always the lowest denominator of any publication or site. EireIslam is deserving or acclimation for the continuing work which we are doing to ensure that the tab is firmly kept on the hodge-podge hate vehicile of Liam Egan.

Jesus is loved by Muslims, too, during the holiday season

Growing up in a Catholic convent school in a Muslim country I remember being immersed in the spirit of Christmas every year. My American-born children growing up in a multi-cultural environment in Houston have similar opportunities to learn about this prevalent holiday – albeit more about Santa and presents than about Jesus.

For many Muslims, there is a healthy curiosity this time of the year: What is Christmas really all about?

Everything the average Muslim knows about Jesus comes from the Quran, the holy book of Muslims. Jesus in the Quran? Strange as it may sound to some, the Quran relates in detail the story of Jesus, including his birth, mission as a prophet to the Israelites and his crucifixion. For example, the Quran states, “…and to Jesus, son of Mary, We gave manifest Signs, and strengthened him with the Spirit of holiness” (2:88).

Jesus is mentioned 25 times in the Quran and Mary, 34 times. Indeed, an entire chapter is titled “Mary,” who is described as the most pious and righteous woman of her time, worthy of being emulated: “O Mary, God has chosen thee and purified thee and chosen thee above the women of all peoples” (3:43). As a sign of respect to her, hundreds of thousands of Muslims, including myself, have named their daughters Maryam, the Arabic form of Mary.

That Jesus deserves the love and respect of every Muslim is evident from the Quran: “When the angels said, ‘O Mary, God gives thee glad tidings of a word from Him; his name shall be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, honored in this world and in the next, and of those who are granted nearness to God” (3:46). That Christmas is a time to remember the work and accomplishments of Jesus is sometimes not too clear to Muslims.

So this year I am going to make a conscious effort to understand what Christmas signifies by knocking on my neighbors’ doors to wish them Merry Christmas, and by taking my Muslim friends to visit area churches and learn about their special Christmas traditions. At the same time I will endeavor to tell others that as a Muslim, I too honor and respect Jesus. Merry Christmas. Season’s Greetings, and peace to all.

Ahmadi Muslims Debate Sharia Law with One Law for All (Maryam Namazie) at UCL

On Thursday the 8th of December 2011, University College London Union Atheist Secularist and Humanist Society (UCLU ASHS) hosted a debate, the motion of which was "Sharia Law Negates Human Rights". The two proponents of the motion (namely, Maryam Namazie and Annemarie Waters) were provided by UCLU ASHS from a campaign called "One Law for All"- a campaign to eradicate Sharia in all its forms and guises both in the United Kingdom and elsewhere abroad. The speakers against the motion were provided by the University College London Union Ahmadiyya Muslim Students Association (UCLU AMSA) and were the respected Khuddam members, Ayyaz Mahmood Khan and Jonathan Butterworth. Also present at the debate was Fahim Anwar, head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA UK), Dr. Aziz Ahmad Hafiz, deputy head of the AMYA UK, and Dr. Tauseef Khan, head of the AMYA Student Affairs Department UK. The entire proceedings were captured by Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA), the official channel of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (Sky: 787).

Disturbing revelations have surfaced on the EireIslam site exposing the cultic past and practices of the proverbial "they" at Eire******. The results of the on-going investigation appeared on the site in response to the unashamed falsifications and defamations of the Eire****** site against the Aly as Sunnah Jam’aat Ireland (Ahmadiyya).

"Play the man, not the ball" a recent post of the site pleaded. As part of "their" damage control programme they have sought to contain the fallout by going on the offensive against Aly as Sunnah Jama’at and EireIslam.

We at EireIslam are determined to continue this Jihad against the extremist element in Gorey. Though we know that the "they" referred to is in fact just one person, he believes that he is more than one therefor we humour his personalities as a sympathetic act. How can you prove that God exists?

Any divide between revelation and rationality, religion and logic has to be irrational. Speed 3: Ahmadi Muslim saves Dublin bound bus from crashing

A FOREIGN national hailed as a hero earlier this month after preventing a bus crash has received his deportation orders to leave the country.

Mosharaf Hossain Chowdhury (28) from Bangladesh will learn next month whether a High Court appeal to grant him asylum has been successful.

On November 11 last, he prevented an accident on the Dublin-bound carriageway along the busy M7 motorway when the driver of the Bus Eireann bus collapsed at the wheel.

With 15 passengers on board the Limerick-Dublin service, Mr Hossain Chowdhury jumped up from his seat and took control of the vehicle.

"We thought we were all going to die. It hit the barrier to the left very badly and went to the right again and then to the left," he said.

"I put my life at risk and saved the other people on board the bus. I received a neck injury and have a pain in my backbone since," he said.

Bus Eireann contacted Mr Hossain Chowdhury afterwards and thanked him. An investigation is ongoing.

Mr Hossain Chowdhury -- who studied business and finance at Griffith College in Limerick and hotel and catering management at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology -- said he fears religious persecution if he is deported home.

He is a converted Ahmadiyya Muslim.

"In Bangladesh, other Muslims who are in the majority will not accept this or tolerate it," he said.

Mr Hossain Chowdhury has been residing in the State since 2006 and lives in Limerick.

The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has sent a direct message to Pope Benedict XVI calling for the Pope to use his influence to encourage religious tolerance and the establishment of human values throughout the world.

The message was delivered personally by the President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Kababir, Muhammad Sharif Odeh, who met the Pope as part of an official delegation of renowned Israeli religious scholars.

In his message, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, spoke of the perilous state of the world. He said:

“It is with regret that if we now observe the current circumstances of the world closely, we find that the foundation for another world war has already been laid.

As a consequence of so many countries having nuclear weapons, grudges and enmities are increasing and the world sits on the precipice of destruction.

I believe it is essential, that we urgently increase our efforts to save the world from this destruction. There is an urgent need for mankind to recognise its Creator as this is the only guarantor for the survival of humanity.”

Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad also said that the world should judge religions on their true teachings, not on the misguided acts of individuals or groups. He said:

“If a person does not follow a particular teaching properly whilst claiming to subscribe to it, then it is he who is in error, not the teaching.

From cover to cover, the Holy Qur’an teaches love, affection, peace, reconciliation and the spirit of sacrifice. Hence, if anybody portrays Islam as an extreme and violent religion filled with teachings of bloodshed, then such a portrayal has no link with the real Islam.”

Speaking about the role of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirzā Masroor Ahmad said:

“The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community practises only the true Islam and works purely to please God Almighty. If any Church or other place of worship stands in need of protection, they will find us standing shoulder to shoulder with them. If any message resonates from our mosques it will only be that of Allah is great and that we bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Him and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah.”

His Holiness concluded by praying for world peace and urging all other parties to play their respected roles for this all important pursuit. He said:

“It is my prayer that we all understand our responsibilities and play our role in establishing peace and love, and for the recognition of our Creator in the world.

We ourselves have prayer, and we constantly beseech Allah that may this destruction of the world be avoided. I pray that we are saved from the destruction that awaits us.”

I sought my fortune but found a pittance

military expansion and Russian interests has been drawn at
the Syrian border.

Today saw another in a succession of inexorable moves on the geo political chess board towards global conflict. Again Syrian rebels, re-branded the Free Syrian Army have celebrated a defection from the government Army forces into their ranks. It now seems quite apparent that with the growth of the Syrian resistance supported by NATO vie Turkey and armed and bolstered by the battle hardened “freedom fighters” of the recent Libyan war that the West are about to embark upon another “humanitarian” intervention.

However Syria is not Libya and Assad is not quite Qadafi. Syria lies at the centre of a complex and precarious web of regional powers whose strategic importance resonates globally. Syria, with a regional influence through its surrogates Hizbullah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza can also boast the support of Iran, Russia and China. Most notably Russia and China, two global powers which seem to have reached their threshold of tolerance with the west, particularly NATO have publicly made clear their obstructive intent. They will not back any resolution which would open a door to military intervention in Syria. They have given enough ground in the world’s most important strategic region and if they want to avoid a slow and painful economic asphyxiation they know that in order to protect their essential ally in Tehran they will need to stack their sandbags at the gates of Damascus.

However this is just one in an alarming conflagration of tensions. Afghanistan has become for America a bottomless pit in which they have emptied nearly 1 Trillion of their coffers and not, to the least have they fashioned an amicable conclusion to their expensive folly. The American Civil Government has been trying desperately to escape with dignity while the military establishment is determined to up the stakes. Pakistan to their right have turned their faces and can no longer justify the fatalistic relationship and co operation with their emotive "ally" . Realising that they have wrung the America alliance for all that they can, they now set their gaze Eastwards towards the shiny golden dragon rising on the horizon. Iran to the left... well that relationship needs no explanation. China and Russia, also recognising the growing precariousness of the American adventure urgently want to capitalise upon this to fortify whatever hold they still have in the region to bolster their delicate arc of influence extending from the Caucuses to Taiwan. There is no more room for America here. Having become deeply politically divided, socially fragmented and suffering almost total economic death the fear may be that America could attempt to hedge all their chips in one last throw of the dice and bear down on Syria hoping that Russia and China will have been bluffing after all.

With Israel determined to gamble WW3 to eliminate Iran, dragging in big daddy America and little sister UK the future of the world seems very dark and disturbing indeed.

Muslim Holy Quran for Pope Benedict XVI, An Islamic Tradition

With the great deal of controversy we see in the news concerning Islam, we often forget that Islam is at it’s heart a spiritually transforming tradition. Islam is designed to transmit the message of the Holy Qur’an. As a result of this, it is always good to see when the message of the Holy Qur’an is explained or delivered to a wide audience.

In November of 2011 the head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Haifa, Israel presented a copy of the Holy Qur’an to Pope Benedict XVI. The Amir of the Ahmadiyya Community in Haifa Shareef Odeh is deeply involved in the faith community of Israel. In fact the Kababir mosque and community has existed in Israel before the establishment of the country in 1948.

Odeh’s presentation of the Holy Qur’an is fitting in the long tradition of Islam dating back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It was the practice of Muhammad to send invitation letters with verses of the Holy Qur’an to leaders of the known world. Letters of invitation from Muhammad the Messenger of Allah” were sent to the rulers of Egypt, Persia, the Eastern Roman Empire and Ethiopia. Three of these letters have survived.

In the 20th century, this tradition of openly presenting the Holy Qur’an and letters of invitation were continued by Ahmad of Qadian the latter day Messiah and Mahdi from his home in India. Ahmad’s followers have continued this tradition intelligently and poignantly since the late 1800’s. Odeh’s recent presentation is a part of this rich tradition of sharing the book openly to all.

The Holy Qur’an is not a secret nor is it a closed book. It requires Muslims to share it with others. In fact it calls those of the theistic tradition “Ahle Khitaab” or “People of the Book”. It urges Muslims to share the book and not to conceal it. It reads: “...You shall make this Book known to the people and not conceal it” (3:188). Nowhere in the annals of Islam has it been recorded that the Holy Qur’an was withheld from the common people. All people, Muslim and non-Muslim are to have access to the Holy Qur’an. For 1400 years Muslims of all ages and races have studied it, critiqued it and shared it. Today this tradition is maintained by modern Muslims.

Here in the United States the Ahmadis as well as other Muslim groups have distributed the Holy Qur’an accross the nation. People who wish to have a copy can view the book openly on the world wide web at websites such as alislam.org or www.quranexplorer. com.

Muslims have presented copies of the Holy Qur’an to university presidents, congressional representatives, intellectuals and even to Presidents.

Faith and Practice: "Islamists" do not understand the reality of Islam

Because of the distortion of their hearts, today's Islamist clerics wrongly interpret some of the verses of the Holy Qur’an, equate Islamic Jihad to rebellion, and associate self-concocted imprudent beliefs to Islam. [Ahmadiyya Gazette USA]

Islam portrayed as a religion of extremism and terrorism by these suicide
bombings exhibitionists.

Contrary to the portrayed beliefs:
“Islam is such a religion, which does not need the support of sword for its propagation. Rather, the inherent excellences of its teachings, its truth, enlightenment, reasoning, arguments, and the active assistance of God the Exalted, the signs, and His personal attention are such matters that always drive its progress and propagation…The message of Islam does not need any compulsion for its propagation…

"To mention that the Ghazis (Islamic veterans of wars) of the Frontier Region raise rebellion in the name of Jihad is an absurd thought, and it is nothing but foolishness and ignorance to call these rebellious people by the name of Ghazi. If an ignorant Muslim harbors even the least amount of sympathy for these people considering them performing Jihad, I tell the truth, that the one who calls a rebellious person ghazi, and praises those who bring a bad name to Islam is an enemy of Islam…

"In England, France and other European countries, Islam is very harshly criticized to have been spread by the use of force… The real truth is that this rebellion has been spread by the Maulvies (Islamic clerics), who are the unwise friends of Islam. They did not understand the reality of Islam, and provided an opportunity to others to raise objections because of their concocted beliefs. The beliefs concocted by them greatly aided the Christians. If they had not deceived others about jihad or misunderstood the meaning of jihad, no one would have taken advantage of the opportunity to criticize Islam."

Anti-Ahmadi Persecution in Indonesia: Extremist tries to behead disabled child

A disabled member of the Indonesian’s minority Ahmadiyah religious sect survived a brutal attack by an unknown assailant but had both his ears partially severed with a machete, it was reported on Thursday.

The victim was identified as Sadarudin, a resident of the run-down Transito shelter in Mataram, Lombok, that has been home to almost 150 persecuted Ahmadi for the last six years.

Metro TV reported that the victim, who is deaf and mute, was collecting wood near the shelter on Wednesday when he was attacked.

Local police said that according to witnesses, the attacker attempted to behead the victim but was scared off when other Ahmadi heard the commotion, according to the report.

The victim, who would not have been able to call for help, suffered serious head injuries and is fighting for his life in the Mataram General Hospital.

It is understood the assailant had approached his intended victim and asked to borrow his machete before using it in the attack.

The Transito (transit) shelter is home to 138 members of the beleaguered sect who struggle to survive.

The electricity to the shelter was cut off more than three years ago, food aid from the government — which has perpetuated their limbo by refusing them the right to return home or register as residents — was halted last year, and sanitation facilities are non-existent.

A stipend from the state was stopped in 2007.

Not being registered residents, they have been denied the free gas stoves distributed by the government to all citizens, and they now resort to gathering scrap to burn as fuel.

Proclaim: The Messiah has Come!

One may ask “what’s the difference between Islam and other faiths? “ Other faiths speak of and teach lofty ideals yet we see those very ideals lying dead in the dust. Against the litmus test of the exercise of those principles where does Islam stand? Today if one were to observe any so called “Muslim” country we would be forced to conclude that whatever the ideals and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (saw) that that tree of faith which he hath planted seems to no longer bare any fruit. Of course this is not the case and we know and affirm that the teachings of Islam as pronounced by Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) are everlasting and ever relevant. Prophet Muhammad (saw) was sent with the last Shariat for all of Mankind and is to be followed until the Day of Judgement.

But to observe the behaviour of the Ummah today it is entirely accurate to describe the Muslim world as fragmented, enfeebled, despondent and crying out for a return to the fundamentals of Islam. By fundamentals of course I do not mean the dry and robotic practice of the Holy shariat but rather the more fundamental bedrock on which all actions are seated, the Nee’at (intention). Our intentions must be based of Taqwah (righteousness) for without Taqwah there can be no reformation. We have the Qur’aan and yes the Qur’aan teaches Taqwah but as we can observe the Qur’aan alone cannot bring about this transformation at this time or we would not have found ourselves in the time of trial which we are now to be found.

As a matter of fact further on to this point Almighty Allah SWT has Himself given the clear guidance on this matter as HE has promised that for all time that the Deen of Islam shall be safeguarded from decay and the erosion of relevance which has befallen other faiths through the inexorable march of time. HE has done so by way of commissioning in every century one who would restore the faith to its original pristine purity. These men are called Mujadids (reformers). Each century has seen its challenge and in every century one has arisen to address this challenge. However it was destined that such a time would befall the world and the Muslims that a mere Mujadid would not alone be sufficient. At this time of great Fitana (trials) Allah SWT would commission the greatest Mujadid who would also have Nabuet (Prophethood). But as Prophet Muhammad (saw) is the last Law bearing Prophet for mankind this awaited Mujadid would be a Prophet only by way of reflection. He would be the perfect reflection of Prophet Muhammad (saw), his most perfect follower and most sincere lover. Indeed all Muslims accept that in the latter days it would be necessary for a Prophet to appear in order to 1.remove ignorance from the world, 2.destroy the false doctrine of Christianity and 3.Bring about an end to wars and conflicts. But this Prophet would not violate the finality of the Prophethood of Mohammad (saw) but rather his coming would re-establish the reality of the complete spiritual perfection and supremacy of his Lord and Master (saw).

Despair, anguish and fear grip the Muslim world yet our very Messiah
(as) has already come and established his Khilafat upon this earth.

It can be said that sometimes a patient can be so ill that they refuse to ingest the very remedy which would cure them. In a similar fashion the Ummah and Ullema of today have become so spiritually ill that they themselves have become delirious and irrational to the point of rejecting that very Messiah and Mahdi who has been sent to remedy their spiritual and temporal ills. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) the Promised Mesih and Mahdi is that very Prophet and Mujadid which the entire Ummah has been waiting for. We see on the news every day how the Muslim countries are falling headlong into civil wars, extremism, sin and despair. The very spring which they have been invited to, to satiate their thirst, cool their hearts and clear their eyes has been rejected. Like a thirsty and transported man wandering in the desert these poor Muslims take the sight of this wondrous spring to be a another mere miraj. The clarity of insight can only be achieved not only by mere observance but by testing the clams, character and truthfulness of such a claim. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) since his claim hath directed his challenge to the whole world. Those who have sincerely accepted that challenge have realised and accepted his claim based upon the unmistakable testimony of the Holy Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the Ayat’s of Allah SWT. Now as ever the world is invited to test this claim.

The Messiah has come! The Messiah has come!

Come hear his call,

And be saved from the impending catastrophe,

Do not rely on your ego,

Just as the shadow flees from the mid-day sun,

Your whispering friend will abandon you on the day of Judgement ,

Do not suffer two destructions,

One in this life and another in the life to come,

Rather receive everlasting paradise,

One in this life and the one greater and unending in the life to come,

We bang the drum of Islam,

Do not close your ears,

Come hear the call,

Sir Zafarullah Khan, Pakistan First Foreign Minister reads his essay on CBS radio, 1950

Muhammad Zafarullah Khan, KCSI (6 February 1893 - 1 September 1985) was a Pakistani diplomat,First Asian President of the International Court of Justice,President of the UN General Assembly, Pakistan's first foreign minister, renowned international jurist and a member as well as scholar of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Zafrullah was born on February 6, 1893, in Sialkot, Pakistan, the son of Nasrullah Khan. He graduated from the Government College, Lahore, in 1911. Between 1911 and 1914 he studied at King's College London and was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn. Returning to India he practised law in Sialkot, until July 1916, and lectured in the Law College, Lahore, during 1919 to 1924, and practised law in Lahore up to 1935.

This is evident from the following from Vali Khan's book:

"Writes the Viceroy: "I may do what I like it, including sending a copy to you; thirdly, the copies have been passed to Jinnah and I think to Hydari (Sir Akbar Hydari, then Prime Minister of the Nizam of Hyderabad), and, fourthly, while he, Zafrullah, cannot of course admit its authorship, his document has been prepared for adoption by the Muslim League with a view to be given the fullest publicity." The Viceroy explains that although the scheme had been drawn up at his instance, since Zafrullah was Qadiani, the Muslims' knowing that it was his handiwork would make it suspect in their eyes from the very start. Consider the dates. This letter was written on April 12, 1940. The plan had been sent earlier. A copy of it had also gone to Mr. Jinnah, and also to Sir Hydari (for the financing of it). Obviously it was much the same scheme that was adopted as the Pakistan Resolution just at that time, on March 23, 1940.[1]"

Career
Muhammad Zafrulla Khan was elected a member of the Punjab Legislative Council in 1926 and presided at the Delhi Meeting of the All-India Muslim League in 1931, where he advocated the cause of the Indian Muslims through his presidential address. He participated in the Round Table Conferences held in the years 1930, 1931, and 1932, and he was member of the Executive Council of the Viceroy of India during the years 1935 to 1941.

He became the Minister of Railways in May, 1935. In 1939, he represented India in the League of Nations. He was appointed the Agent General of India in China in the year 1942 and represented India as the Indian Government's nominee in the Commonwealth Relations Conference in 1945, where courageously spoke for the cause of India's freedom.

Thereafter, he was appointed Judge of the Federal Court of India in September 1941, which he held until June 1947. At the request of Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, known by the title Quaid-e-Azam (Pakistan's founding father and first leader), he represented the Muslim League in July 1947 before the Radcliffe Boundary Commission and presented the case of the Muslims in a highly commendable manner. Zafrullah advised the Nawab of Junagadh that should he make the decision to join his state with Pakistan it would be both moral and legal. Nawab then proceeded to announce this decision.[2]

In October 1947, Zafrullah represented Pakistan in United Nations General Assembly as the head of the Pakistan delegation and advocated the stand of the Muslim world on the Palestinian issue. That year, he was appointed as Pakistan's (first) Foreign Minister, a post he held for 7 years.

In 1948 to 1954 he represented Pakistan at the Security Council (UN) and admirably advocated the case of liberation of the occupied Kashmir, Libya, Northern Ireland, Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco, and Indonesia.

In 1954 he became Judge of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, which he held until 1961. He became the Vice President of the International Court of Justice, the Hague, in 1958 and remained so until 1961. Then between 1961 to 1964, he was Pakistan's Permanent Representative at the UN, and in 1962 for 2 years was President of the UN General Assembly.

In March, 1958, he performed Umra and visited the shrine of Prophet Muhammad in Medina, Saudi Arabia. He also met Sultan Abdul Aziz Ibne Saud and stayed in the Royal Palace as the King's personal guest. He performed Hajj in the year 1967 and produced a new English translation of the Qur'an in 1970. The same year, he was elected President of the International Court of Justice, The Hague, a post he held until 1973. He lived in England for the period 1973 to 1983 and went back to Lahore, Pakistan in 1983 and died on September 1, 1985, after a protracted illness. He was buried in the city of Rabwah which was the world headquarters of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at that time with the current world headquarters being London, England.

An ancient document has revealed how Sultan Abdul Aziz, the founder of Saudi Arabia assured Britain of creating a Jewish state on Palestinian lands, a news report says.

The document, expose the deep commitment of first Saudi King to the United Kingdom and his assurance to British authorities to give Palestine to the Jews.

The controversial document, written as a notice to then British delegate Major General Sir Percy Zachariah Cox, is yet another proof of Saudi royal family's hostile approach to the Palestinian nation.

"I am the Sultan Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud al-Faisal and I conceded and acknowledged a thousand times to Sir Percy Cox, delegate of Great Britain, that I have no objection to giving Palestine to the poor Jews or even to non-Jews, and I will never ever violate their [the UK] orders," read the note signed by King Abdul Aziz.

The note also expose the extent of Saudi royals' fidelity to the UK government.

Britain used to attaché great importance to Saudi Arabia in 1930s, as it was located along the shortest seaway to India and Australia throughout the Red Sea and shortest air route to the east. Saudi Arabia was also close to the main British motor route and oil pipeline between Iraq and Palestine through Transjordan.

The ruling of Al Saud family also added to the importance of Saudi Arabia for Britain, as the UK believed ibn-e Saud kings could greatly influence the Arab countries.

Film tribute to Muslims who saved Jews from Nazis

THE STORIES of the Holocaust have been documented, distorted, clarified and filtered through memory. Yet new stories keep coming, occasionally altering the grand, incomplete mosaic of Holocaust history.

One of them, dramatised in a new French film, focuses on an unlikely saviour of Jews during the Nazi occupation of France: the rector of a Paris mosque.

Muslims, it seems, rescued Jews from the Nazis.

Les Hommes Libres (Free Men) is a tale of courage not found in French textbooks. According to the story, Si Kaddour Benghabrit, the founder and rector of the Grand Mosque of Paris, provided refuge and certificates of Muslim identity to a small number of Jews to allow them to evade arrest and deportation.

It was simpler than it sounds. In the early 1940s France was home to a large population of North Africans, including thousands of Sephardic Jews. The Jews spoke Arabic and shared many of the same traditions and everyday habits as the Arabs. Neither Muslims nor Jews ate pork. Both Muslim and Jewish men were circumcised. Muslim and Jewish names were often similar.

The mosque, a tiled, walled fortress the size of a city block on the Left Bank, served as a place to pray, certainly, but also as an oasis of calm where visitors were fed and clothed and could bathe, and where they could talk freely and rest in the garden.

It was possible for a Jew to pass.

“This film is an event,” said Benjamin Stora, France’s pre-eminent historian on North Africa and a consultant on the film. “Much has been written about Muslim collaboration with the Nazis. But it has not been widely known that Muslims helped Jews. There are still stories to be told, to be written.”

The film, directed by Ismael Ferroukhi, is described as fiction inspired by real events and built around the stories of two real-life figures (along with a made-up black marketeer). The veteran French actor Michael Lonsdale plays Benghabrit, an Algerian-born religious leader and a clever political manoeuvrer who gave tours of the mosque to German officers and their wives even as he apparently used it to help Jews.

Mahmoud Shalaby, a Palestinian actor living in Israel, plays Salim – originally Simon – Hilali, who was Paris’s most popular Arabic-language singer, a Jew who survived the Holocaust by posing as a Muslim. (To make the assumed identity credible, Benghabrit had the name of Hilali’s grandfather engraved on a tombstone in the Muslim cemetery in the Paris suburb of Bobigny, according to French obituaries about the singer. In one tense scene in the film, a German soldier intent on proving that Hilali is a Jew takes him to the cemetery to identify it.)

The historical record remains incomplete because documentation is sketchy. Help was provided to Jews on an ad-hoc basis and was not part of any organised movement by the mosque. The number of Jews who benefited is not known. The most graphic account, never corroborated, was given by Albert Assouline, a North African Jew who escaped from a German prison camp. He claimed that more than 1,700 resistance fighters – including Jews but also a lesser number of Muslims and Christians – found refuge in the mosque’s underground caverns, and that the rector provided many Jews with certificates of Muslim identity.

Does Islam Come from the Biblical God?

There is a fallacious theory being spread by certain groups, in particular some Evangelical Christians, that ALLAH is a Moon God, and is therefore nothing but a pagan deity. It seems they are desperately trying to show that Muslims do not pray to the Biblical God. It is unfortunate that they have not carried out a thorough investigation into the matter; otherwise they would have discovered that Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews also call God ALLAH.

Every polytheistic and idolatrous people on earth have had some notion of a Supreme God, sometimes going back thousands of years. It is not surprising that they have portrayed the True God as an idol or icon. Christians also portray the God of Israel as an old white man with a long beard. However, such depictions and idols made of Him will not and cannot change His real nature. If the real God is presented as an idol or picture, that will change nothing of what He is in reality. Therefore, if we find such idols of Allah made by Arabs prior to Islam, that will diminish nothing of what He truly has been and is since Eternity.

ALLAH is none other than ELOHIM and YHWH of the Children of Israel; He is BHAGWAN and PARMESHWAR of the Hindus, and other nations have alternative names for Him. In the Qur’an GOD is called HAYY and YUHYI the One Who has existed since eternity, the Living One Who shall live forever and ever, the True God Who created us all. All the most beautiful names and attributes are for GOD.

The name ALLAH is not a contraction of AL + ILAH (AL-ILAH means “the god”), as is wrongly suggested by people who are ignorant of the intricacies of the Arabic language. It also has absolutely nothing to do with the goddess of pre-Islamic times AL-LAT (“The Lat”, the name of a man who used to feed pilgrims moist barley meal and whose gravestone was venerated as a goddess after his death). LAT is derived from the root word L-T, meaning “to moisten”, whereas ALLAH is from the root A-L-H, meaning “to worship”.

In the Arabic language, ALLAH is the perfect Divine Name. Unlike the word GOD, which can be made plural (GODS) or feminine (GODDESS), ALLAH has neither plural nor feminine forms. On the other hand, the EL (ELOAH) of the Bible has a plural form: ELOHIM, and a feminine form: ELAT.

Islam explained at new exhibition

AN EXHIBITION on 'Islam: A religion of peace' is currently running at Gorey Library, and members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community are encouraging all those interested to pay a visit during library opening hours.

The exhibition gives people the opportunity to learn more about the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Ireland. People can view the Holy Book of Islam ' The Quran' in 28 languages. The Holy Book has even been translated into Irish by the Imam based in Ireland.

Several New Ross members of the religion will be in the library from 12.30 p.m. onwards during the afternoons this week to meet members of the public and answer any questions they may have.

The Ahmadiyya movement, whose motto is ' Love for All Hatred for None' was founded by Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, in 1889 in Qadian, India. He claimed to be the Promised Messiah and Imam Mehdi.

The community has 350 members in Ireland, and are based in 194 countries around the world. Habib Ahmad and Malik Anwar explained that the idea of the exhibition is to inform people about different aspects of Islam, such as ' The Pillars of Islam', 'What is the Jihad' and ' The Rights of Women in Islam. We are giving the exact message of The Quaran and explaining what it says,' said Habib.

The exhibition runs to Friday, September 23, during library opening times.

All are welcome and admission is free.

How a unique Muslim sect is engaging with Southsiders

A MEMBER of a Southside based Islamic sect that promotes peace and tolerance has offered an insight into how they reach out the local community in a bid encourage understanding among Irish people.Originally from Pakistan, Imran Ahmed Sheikh (32), now lives in Lucan where he is just one of about 150 members of the Irish branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.

The association is a specific sect of Islam and its members congregate and pray at a makeshift mosque, which doubles as a community centre, at Fforster Walk in Lucan.

Imran explained that the motto of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association is ‘love for all and hatred for none’.

He said the sect is the leading Islamic organisation that categorically rejects terrorism in any form though the promotion of “Jihad of the pen” rather than the sword.

“It is a dynamic, fast growing international revival movement within Islam,” he explained. “Founded in 1889, it spans over 195 countries with a membership exceeding tens of millions.”

VISITORS TO New Ross Library had an opportunity to learn about Islam and to view copies of the Koran in various translations recently when an exhibition, highlighting the message of the Koran, went on display.

Entitled 'Islam a Religion of Peace', the exhibition, which was presented by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, comprised of a display of translations of the Koran, the holy book of the Muslims, in various languages and posters with verses from the Koran in English.

This holy book has been translated into fifty languages and selected verses have been translated in 114 languages.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association presented the Koran in 28 languages and also displayed selected verses in Irish.

A Christian Plot for Domination?

Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry aren't just devout—both have deep ties to a fringe fundamentalist movement known as Dominionism, which says Christians should rule the world.

With Tim Pawlenty out of the presidential race, it is now fairly clear that the GOP candidate will either be Mitt Romney or someone who makes George W. Bush look like Tom Paine. Of the three most plausible candidates for the Republican nomination, two are deeply associated with a theocratic strain of Christian fundamentalism known as Dominionism. If you want to understand Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry, understanding Dominionism isn’t optional.

Put simply, Dominionism means that Christians have a God-given right to rule all earthly institutions. Originating among some of America’s most radical theocrats, it’s long had an influence on religious-right education and political organizing. But because it seems so outré, getting ordinary people to take it seriously can be difficult. Most writers, myself included, who explore it have been called paranoid. In a contemptuous 2006 First Things review of several books, including Kevin Phillips’ American Theocracy, and my own Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism, conservative columnist Ross Douthat wrote, “the fear of theocracy has become a defining panic of the Bush era.”

Now, however, we have the most theocratic Republican field in American history, and suddenly, the concept of Dominionism is reaching mainstream audiences. Writing about Bachmann in The New Yorker this month, Ryan Lizza spent several paragraphs explaining how the premise fit into the Minnesota congresswoman’s intellectual and theological development. And a recent Texas Observer cover story on Rick Perry examined his relationship with the New Apostolic Reformation, a Dominionist variant of Pentecostalism that coalesced about a decade ago. “[W]hat makes the New Apostolic Reformation movement so potent is its growing fascination with infiltrating politics and government,” wrote Forrest Wilder. Its members “believe Christians—certain Christians—are destined to not just take ‘dominion’ over government, but stealthily climb to the commanding heights of what they term the ‘Seven Mountains’ of society, including the media and the arts and entertainment world.”

n many ways, Dominionism is more a political phenomenon than a theological one. It cuts across Christian denominations, from stern, austere sects to the signs-and-wonders culture of modern megachurches. Think of it like political Islamism, which shapes the activism of a number of antagonistic fundamentalist movements, from Sunni Wahabis in the Arab world to Shiite fundamentalists in Iran.

Dominionism derives from a small fringe sect called Christian Reconstructionism, founded by a Calvinist theologian named R. J. Rushdoony in the 1960s. Christian Reconstructionism openly advocates replacing American law with the strictures of the Old Testament, replete with the death penalty for homosexuality, abortion, and even apostasy. The appeal of Christian Reconstructionism is, obviously, limited, and mainstream Christian right figures like Ralph Reed have denounced it.

But while Rushdoony was a totalitarian, he was a prolific and influential one—he elaborated his theories in a number of books, including the massive, three-volume Institutes of Biblical Law. And his ideas, along with those of his followers, have had an incalculable impact on the milieu that spawned both Bachmann and Perry.

Rushdoony pioneered the Christian homeschooling movement, as well as the revisionist history, ubiquitous on the religious right, that paints the U.S. as a Christian nation founded on biblical principles. He consistently defended Southern slavery and contrasted it with the greater evils of socialism: “The law here is humane and also unsentimental,” he wrote. “It recognizes that some people are by nature slaves and will always be so ... Socialism, on the contrary, tries to give the slave all the advantages of his security together with the benefits of freedom, and in the process, destroys both the free and the enslaved.”

Rushdoony’s most influential idea was the concept of Dominionism, which spread far beyond the Christian Reconstructionist fringe. “‘Dominion theologians,’ as they are called, lay great emphasis on Genesis 1:26–7, where God tells Adam to assume dominion over the animate and inanimate world,” wrote the scholar Garry Wills in his book Under God: Religion and American Politics, describing the influence of the ideology on Pat Robertson. “When man fell, his control over creation was forfeited; but the saved, who are restored by baptism, can claim again the rights given Adam.”

Recently another new blog purporting to be from an ex Muslim girl now turned anti Ahmadiyya activist has splattered up on the net. Writing phonetically in inner city "gangster style" this young thug cheek puerile person is just another in a long yawn of stuffed pit bulls gnawing at the ankles of of the Musliman True Revivalist Movement.

Her latest post seeks to "exposes the lie" of Muslim conversion in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. She claims that she has covertly received conversion figures that are dismal at best. She proclaims;

"Yes OK I hear you!! I hear you already!!! ‘THIS ISN’T TRUE IT IS LIES OMG LIARS, HE MADE IT UP’… "

She claim that Ahmadi Musliman will say that you made up the figure? Now why on earth would she do that? Surly a good "Muslim" girl like her would never tell a lie right?

Indeed the "lady" dost protest too much. For she has indeed quite early on been found to have lied. In the very beginning of the said post she boasts;

"This is old news, but now I have brand new readers, this will be NEW to thousands of you (yep thousands, my Blog had 8,000 hits by this morning subhanAllah)."

But surprise, surprise you don't have to go very far to realise the lies. For on her very profile page it only records 665 hits.

What a liar. Or should I say it in a way that she would be able to understand and relate (gang speak). YO CKICK I IZ COT U OUT INNIT. YOU AINT NOTHEN BUT A FAKER INNIT YO.

This latest blog just again serves to expose the caliber of these anti Ahmadi bigots. Lies, misinformation and deceit are common place and acceptable for them. What is more I would not at all be surprised if this "gurl" is in reality none other than Shahid Kamal himself in disguise as I sincerely believe that there is no debts that he would not trawl in his nefarious quest to blacken the name of the Ahmadiyyat Muslim Jama'at.

The Arabic word Dajjal دجال is a noun which means "imposter" or "fake". In Islamic Sunnah the word Dajjal is usually used to describe that being which will arise in the latter days and cause humanity untold suffering and hardship. Many believe that the Dajjal is in fact not one solitary person but rather a system political, social and militaristic which will cause untold destruction and fitna in the world. This time will require a Messiah to battle this dark person or force and to restore Gods sovergn rule upon the earth.

If we compare the characteristics described in the Dajjal we can find a thinly veiled prophecy about the times in which we are now passing through.

Hudhayfah said, "The Prophet said, 'I know more about the powers which the Dajjal will have than he will know himself. He will have two flowing rivers: one will appear to be pure water, and the other will appear to be flaming fire. Whosoever lives to see that, let him choose the river which seems to be fire, then let him close his eyes, lower his head and drink from it, for it will be cold water. The Dajjal will be one-eyed; the place where one eye should be will be covered by a piece of skin. On his forehead will be written the word Kafir, and every believer, whether literate or illiterate, will be able to read it.'" (Muslim)

Signs of the coming of Dajjal (all of which have been fulfilled)

Hadith attributed to Muhammad give many signs of the appearance of the Dajjal, and exhorted his followers to recite the first and last ten verses of Sura Al-Kahf, as protection from the trials and mischief of the Dajjal.

Cleric: Islam doesn’t call for covered faces

THE most senior Muslim cleric in Ireland has said there is nothing in his religion that states a woman has to have her face fully covered.

A spokeswoman for Iman Hussein Halawa made the statement on his behalf in response to a controversial call by a former Lord Mayor of Cork to ban the wearing in public of full burkas which completely cover a woman’s face.

Cllr Joe O’Callaghan has put down a motion to be discussed by members of Cork City Council next month to ban some garments, including hoodies, which cover people’s faces, because he said they are a risk to security.

The motion has been criticised by the Integration Centre. It chief executive, Killian Forde, said: "The worst part of O’Callaghan’s childish, opportunistic, and irresponsible motion is that he equates criminal behaviour with the wearing of the burka.

"The last thing our society needs is public figures coming out with blatantly xenophobic rhetoric, in order to satiate their own publicity needs. We will be lodging a complaint with the Standards in Public Office Commission regarding this matter."

Meanwhile, Summayal Kenna, spokeswoman for Iman Halawa and the Islamic Cultural Centre, said there was nothing in Islamic text or history which made it obligatory to wear a full veil over the face.

"As regards attire it’s freedom of expression, but not compulsory. A woman doesn’t have to cover her hands or face," she said.

Mark Kelly, director of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, said he doubted Mr O’Callaghan’s proposal was serious.

In the wake of the British riots, the Fine Gael councillor wants Minister for Justice Alan Shatter to introduce new legislation which would allow gardaí to lawfully remove youths’ hoodies to identify them.

"Prohibiting of the niqab, burka or other facial coverings will only be appropriate in exceptional and clearly- defined circumstances. The essential criteria for any such restrictions on an individual’s freedom of expression and religion are necessity and proportionality. In other words, is it objectively justified by a legitimate aim and are the means of achieving that aim appropriate and necessary?" Mr Kelly said.

He said any such move requires identifying an issue, if it exists; analysing it carefully, "consulting with communities and identifying evidence-based solutions having due regard to human rights principles".

Thecult.info popular with bedroom generals of sectarian hatred has become the latest in a long line of wishy washy pseudo Islamic initiatives to eat the gravel. Initially started by one Mr.Shahid Kamal as a personal vendetta style crusade against those whom he personally deemed as heretical in the mirror of his own phantasmal realm, thecult.info for a time seemed to be grabbing the attention of the internet extremist circle of hate that he chose to court.

Very old arguments were rehashed against Aly us Sunnah Wal Jam'aat Ahmadiyyat but with a superficially modern hugh. But it did not last long. It seems that Mr. Shahid Kamal has turned his back on his former associates under the cloak of leaving for "Islamic Studies". I would like to take this opportunity to encourage Mr. shahid in his quest and perhaps InshAllah he will shed his sectarian beliefs by following that path which will lead him back into line with the Sunnah of our beloved Rasul Allah (saw).

Since his departure the site has seen a nose dive into even more questionable pseudo Islamic silliness. Gone now are the contributions of Mr.Kamal leaving a clear vacuum in direction and substance or of what little there was before.

In the more than 100 years since Al Mahdi (as) raised the flag of true Islamic revolution this divine Jama'at has faced many attempts to discredit, subvert and pressure Ahmadi Musliman into Kufer.
